First step - sign up for a system. When you sign up, you’ll be given a completely blank Current RMS system, ready for you to explore.
To get to know the in’s and out’s of Current, we recommend sitting in an online demo with one of our knowledgeable Product Specialists, where we’ll share screens with you and give you a guided tour. It’s a great chance to have a more in depth look around the system and have any questions you may have, answered by a real person. You can book in a demo at any point on our website - just pick a date and time that’s best for you!
During your trial, you’ll have tons of resources at hand, including a way to start a conversation with our team from within Current to answer any queries, plus access to our guides, packed with info about every area of Current. You can also book in additional training sessions, too - it’s all part of the package.
There are a couple of simple steps to get your account set up properly from the get-go.
Initially, you’ll open the main admin account and will be a one-user system and from here, you can add and remove users at any point. So whether you’re in your busy season and need more hands on deck, or in your quieter period where you can get by with less people accessing the system, Current completely fits around you. Adjusting users is really easy to do - just head to System Setup.
Off the bat, you’ll also want to define your rental rates and tax settings. This is a key part of any rental business and ensures the pricing on every job is calculated correctly, with Current doing all the legwork. The system comes with a handful of rates ready for you to use out-of-the-box, but if you need something a little more specific, Current caters for that too. Create your own rates in System Setup, and remember our friendly team are on hand if you’ve got any queries at all.
Of course, adding the products that you rent into your system is one of the most important things to do.
You can either use the web interface or import all of your products and contact details en masse into Current, and use these to create jobs during your Free 30 Day Trial. Experimenting with the system is the best way to see what it can do!
If you want to import your data in bulk, it’s simple. To begin, we recommend adding in a few products to get familiar with the process. When you’re done, export this data to get CSV templates that include the products you just created. This will give you a feel for how the data you just created in Current maps to the import templates. You can then go ahead and enter all of your data to the CSV template, using your export as a guideline, ready to be added back into the system. We’ve got a guide on the topic here.
If you’re already using a rental management software, you may even be able to export all of your data in bulk from your existing system to simply merge with Current’s import files. It’s also worth noting that if you can’t find an equivalent field in Current for the data you want to import, you can always set this up as a Custom Field in System Setup. It’ll then appear on your CSV template file, ready for you to import the data you need into your shiny new system!
So you’ve made a few jobs, you’ve sat in a demo and by the end of your trial, you think Current’s got exactly what you need. Awesome!
Just pop your card details in before your Free 30 Days are up and we’ll seamlessly update your account to a paid plan, keeping all your data as it is. You won’t need to worry about setting up a new account or adding your products back in - you’re ready to roll. Even if you’ve used your trial to create test jobs that aren’t going ahead, you can completely remove these from your system, before creating your live opportunities once you’ve moved over to a paying plan. It’s easy to delete these in System Setup, while still retaining genuine product and customer data you’ve added in.
